    Sugar detox: one month after

A month ago, after a weekend of sugar 24/7, I decided, supported by my boyfriend, to quit sugar for a certain amount of time. Now, a month after, we went back on the sugar wagon but with a different approach on it. This is what I ate and what I didn’t eat MY EXPERIENCE I divided this month into two parts without even noticing it. The first three weeks were pretty strict. I didn’t allow myself to have processed sugar of any kind, I was feeling great and I didn’t want to feel worse again. My body experimented a little bit of withdrawal a couple of days after I took…

    Are you an antevasin?

Last week, I decided to rewatch Eat, Pray, Love the movie with Julia Roberts, born from the book written by Elizabeth Gilbert. I had read the book and watched the movie years ago. I was younger, still living in Italy with my parents and, yes, I was traveling thru Europe but not longer than 10 days. I always defined this book as one of my favorites, even though it seated in my Italian bookshelf for years. I don’t really like to reread books or re-watch movies (just Harry Potter is an exception), so when the other day I found Eat, Pray, Love on Netflix I weirdly thought: “why not?” The…

    Sugar detox: how to begin

I’ve spent the last weekend of March eating tons of sugar: candies, pastries, soft beverages, and the list could go on and on. What happened that same night, and then the next day, was a sense of nausea and not overall well-being. My boyfriend and I decided that it was time to quit sugar for a bit. I’m a sugar addicted. I love sugar, sugar loves me, but it’s definitely not good for my body and my health. My dad suffers diabetes, my grandma died of diabetes and I have in my blood that gene that gets me predisponed to it. Like a smoke addicted that knows the health problems…

    Does perfection really exist?

Perfection (noun, per·fec·tion | \ pər-ˈfek-shən  \)\ is defined as the quality or state of being perfect such as freedom from fault or defect. Merriam-Webster dictionary I chased perfection for years. No, wait. I chased someone else’s perfection for years. That would be more accurate. When you grow up, it is easy to be influenced in the wrong way. You don’t really know what’s good for you, what is not, so you just notice what is around you. What happens when what you see around you is super skinny, perfect skin and flawless models? You start to believe that you are not perfect, because they are the representation of perfection, that’s…

    Manifesting money

Because money is currency and currency is energy, when you shrink down and lower your prices to accomodate someone, you’re basically saying the equivalent of “I don’t think you could grow and manifest the money you desire to work with me. I don’t believe you’re that powerful. I also don’t think I have the right to charge what I’m worth or to make the decisions around here about what to charge. “You are a badass at making money” – Jen Sincero Money. Oh god, they have been my worst nightmare in the last year. I’m talking about the past, not because I suddenly won the lottery, but because I shifted…

6 tips for a healthy brain

Optimal brain health has never been a problem to me until my grandma got diagnosed with Alzheimer. I was 18, she was just 72. It started with losing keys or money, and then it slowly passed thru the phase of forgetting names and faces, to the one, in which she is now, where she just screams to communicate and lives in her own world. I don’t know you, but Alzheimer scares the shit out of me. It’s so painful to look at the woman who raised you and see a body, but not a person. She doesn’t respond, she doesn’t remember how to talk or walk. She went back to…

Hey, listen to me, where do you live now?

What does a health coach exactly do?

Since I’ve started my yoga teacher certification I felt the need to know more. I rediscovered a love for learning, left behind when university almost dragged me to depression. That’s why I’ve decided to connect my yoga teacher knowledge with something interconnected: health coaching. WHAT DOES A HEALTH COACH? A health coach is a supportive mentor and wellness authority helping clients feel their best through food and lifestyle changes, tailoring individualized wellness programs to meet their clients’ needs. Firstly, we health coach ourselves. We are constantly learning from within ourselves and from our clients. We help transitioning into those important healthy habits that can lead to a better lifestyle. Health coaching…

    Body shaming: my experience

Have you ever been a victim of body shaming? I was, and it’s not funny. The middle school period was hell to me. Ask my mom, she definitely remember as much as I do. She was my rock in a moment in which I felt I was about to sink. Everything started because one girl wanted to be best friend with my best friend. She wanted to cut me out of the picture, and she succeeded. I was losing my best friend, and these girls were treating me like shit. Every day I was coming home crying, overwhelmed by all the mean things that her and my ex-best friend would…

Focus word and intentions of 2019

Happy New Year lovely people! 2019 has officially begun and all the brand new firing resolutions are out there. For this year, I took inspiration from Kayla In The City and decided that, rather than writing resolutions that I’m definitely not going to follow, I’ll set intentions and a specific focus word for this brand new year. I’ve seen a lot of people using fancy words to focus on in their 2019. Mine is not fancy, romantic or elegant. My word is BUSINESS, and now I’m going to describe why. I’ve always been struggling with jobs. I don’t like the idea of working for someone, I love making my own…
